Michal Zemel

Born in 1993 and raised in Tel Aviv, graduated in MarketingF and Fashion Communication at the European Fashion Institute in Milan (IED Milan). During her academic studies, Michal worked in various fashion companies, where her curiosity about the world of visual communication intensified. In 2018, she enrolled in Multimedia Arts & Design MAD at Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA), during which she received an award for her interactive installation “Breathe”.
Michal’s main channel is digital installations that contain interactive elements, which allow the audience to recognize themselves in the machine.
She is particularly interested in simple mechanics and electronics that can be used to insert life in basic, lifeless elements in the form of interaction.
After graduation, she interned with Quite Ensemble, a known artistic studio presenting installations internationally. In 2021, Michal participated in Blooming Festival, a digital art festival in Pergola, Italy. Where she presented an interactive installation drawing inspiration from the sub-culture of Techno-Paganism and the link between the physical, intangible, and digital worlds.
In 2022, Michal teamed up with Ultravioletto, a creative studio in Rome, to create a permanent installation for Explora, the children museum in Rome, (MDBR). This interactive work is designed to help the kids learn to recognize and understand the different emotions in a fun and playful way.
Currently, Michal is following an independent career in Media Design along with artistic projects of digital installation and video.
